Loving God. Loving Others. Serving Both.
At Springwood Baptist Church, loving God, loving others, and serving both is more than a motto - it's the heart of who we are. Our food pantry is one way we put that love into action, serving individuals and families in our community who need a helping hand.
For more than 15 years, the Springwood Baptist Food Pantry has been providing food assistance to our neighbors in Buchanan and the surrounding communities. We believe everyone deserves access to food, and we are committed to serving those in need with compassion, dignity, and love.
Food Assistance for Those in Need
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry is open the third Saturday of each month, from 8:30-9:30 AM, year-round, rain or shine. Our pantry operates as a convenient drive-through. Simply arrive during pantry hours, remain in your vehicle, and our volunteers will bring your groceries to you.
Receiving Assistance Is Simple
• Come to the pantry during our monthly distribution hours.
• Provide some basic information about your household.
• No driver's license or Social Security card is required.
• If you need food assistance, we are here to help.
No one in need will be turned away.
Whether you are experiencing a temporary hardship or facing ongoing food insecurity, you are welcome here. There is no need to feel embarrassed or uncertain about asking for help. Our desire is to serve you with kindness, respect, and compassion.
A Community Working Together
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry is a ministry of Springwood Baptist Church, but it is also a reflection of what can happen when a community comes together to care for its neighbors.
We are grateful for the partnerships and generosity that help make this ministry possible.
Feeding Southwest Virginia
As an agency partner, we receive the bulk of our food supply through Feeding Southwest Virginia in Salem, allowing us to provide groceries to families each month at little or no cost.
Food Lion & Kroger
Our partnerships with these local grocery retailers help provide additional food items, including bread, eggs, produce, and bakery goods.
Garden of Grace
This ministry of Wheatland Lutheran Church generously donates fresh, seasonal produce to help provide nutritious food for the families we serve.
Springwood Baptist Church
Our church provides financial support and is committed to sustaining the pantry as an ongoing ministry to our community.
Community & Individual Donors
Generous individuals and community supporters help keep our pantry operating and our shelves stocked.
Baptist General Assembly of Virginia
A quarterly grant helps support the pantry's ongoing work.
Feeding Friends Golf Tournament
This annual fundraiser, sponsored by Wheatland Lutheran Church and Springwood Baptist Church, helps provide financial support for the pantry.
Every donation, partnership, and act of generosity makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
The People Behind the Pantry
Thank You to Our Volunteers!
Our food pantry is made possible by a dedicated team of 22 volunteers who give their time, energy, and hearts to serving others. Throughout the month, our volunteers order and pick up food, organize supplies, prepare grocery packages, and work together to serve families on pantry day.
Their faithful service is a living example of what it means to love our neighbors and serve others in the name of Christ.
We are grateful for each of these individuals and the love they share through this ministry.

How You Can Help
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry depends on the generosity of our church and community to continue serving those in need.

Every act of kindness helps us extend the love of Christ beyond the walls of our church. Together, we can make a difference - one family, one neighbor, and one act of love at a time.
