Welcome to Springwood Baptist Church

What We Believe

At Springwood Baptist Church, we believe the Christian faith is centered on knowing God through Jesus Christ and living out that faith in love, grace, and service. We hold to the historic Christian faith and to the Baptist convictions that have shaped our church family through the years.

God, Christ & the Holy Spirit

We believe in one true God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is our Creator, Redeemer, and Lord.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, gave Himself on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and is Lord over all. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, redemption, and new life.

We believe the Holy Spirit is God present with us and within every believer. He convicts, teaches, guides, strengthens, and equips us to follow Christ and serve others.

The Word of God

We believe the Bible is God's Word, inspired by God and trustworthy in all that it teaches. It is our final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living. We believe Scripture reveals God's character, His plan of redemption, and His will for how we are to live as followers of Christ.

Grace, Forgiveness & New Life

We believe every person is separated from God by sin and cannot save himself or herself through good works. Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Through Christ, we are forgiven, reconciled to God, and given new life and the hope of eternity.

Our Baptist Convictions

As Baptists, we believe every person has the freedom and responsibility to respond personally to God through faith in Jesus Christ. We practice believer's baptism by immersion as a public testimony of faith and obedience, and we observe the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Christ.

We believe in the priesthood of every believer - that every Christian has direct access to God through Christ and is called to worship, serve, pray, and participate in the ministry of the church. We believe the local church is autonomous, responsible under the lordship of Christ for its own leadership, worship, ministry, and decisions. We also affirm religious liberty, believing that faith must be freely embraced rather than imposed.

What This Means for Us

These aren't simply beliefs we put on a website. They shape the way we worship, the way we treat one another, and the way we serve our community.

At Springwood, we want to be a church where people can love God, love others, and serve both—with Jesus Christ at the center of all we do.
